-
Is it permanent?Yes and no. Microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos and will naturally fade over time - hence why yearly touchups are recommended. However, if you do not get any touchups (after the initial procedure) the pigment will fade and will no longer be visible. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months.
-
What ink and products do you use during the procedure? Please view HERE
-
How long is the healing process? No downtime is required after Microblading. The eyebrow area may be slightly red and the colour will appear darker following the procedure. The colour will fade 40-60% as it heals and the eyebrow strokes will shrink. In the following days the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. During the second week of healing, the eyebrows will lighten up in colour. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over and 14-28 days to then see the full colour reveal.
-
Will the colour change? No. PhiBrows and Permablend pigments do not change colour as they fade. Also, because Microblading is implanted into the superficial layer of the epidermis the high quality pigments remain stable. The pigment will eventually fade and diminish from skin cell turn over and/or from sunlight, or use of products containing AHA or Glycolic Acids.

Do I need a consultation before booking? In most cases, no. Consultations are part of your Microblading appointment. However, if you have had previous Microblading or permanent cosmetics, skin issues, scar tissues, or medical issues requiring further discussion, you may book a consultation HERE.

How to choose which brow technique is right for me?Since not all skin types are ideal for all eyebrow permanent makeup techniques, your artist will make a professional recommendation as to which technique to execute at your appointment. If you are not flexible as to technique, we ask that you contact us prior to booking! Note: **If you have Oily or Thin, Mature Skin - Microblading / Nanoblading may not be the best option for you. Nano Brows or Powderbrows (machine techniques) are ideal for these skin types.
-
What is the difference between Microblading, Nano Brows and Powderbrows?Microblading is individual hair strokes etched into the skin using a hand tool and blade. Nano brows is individual hair strokes etched into the skin using a machine and super fine needle. The result is a hyper-realistic brow. Powder brows (also known as shading) is a done with a machine to 'shade in' pigment into the skin. It can enhance the brow by making it look fuller. The style can be soft and powered in a "barely there" style or can be more filled in to help blend areas with very little hair to areas that have thicker, dense hair.
-
Who may not be a good candidate for microblading?Individuals under 18 years of age Are pregnant or nursing Individuals with any kind of skin condition on or near the treatment area Individuals who use Acutane Individuals prone to keloids Oily Skins, Mature Skins --> Nano or Powderbrow techniques are offered for these types of skin. Previously tattooed or microbladed brows (please send photos to browsbyraquel@gmail.com) Are taking Antibiotics (must wait at least 7 days)
-
What is the aftercare? You will receive specific aftercare instructions at your appointment tailored to your skin type. You will be healing for approximately 7-10 days after the procedure. You MUST keep your eyebrows CLEAN AND DRY while they're healing. You will be given ointment to apply if/when needed (typically twice daily). It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best possible results. DO NOT rub or pick the healing area as the colour will peel off prematurely. Avoid extreme heat, sweating and contaminated bodies of water (such as saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, pools, lakes, and places with hot humidity, etc.).
-
How long does it last?Microblading can last 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, dry, oily), age, skincare routines, lifestyle (sun exposure, skincare products, iron deficiency, etc.). To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months.
