Lipblush Toronto
What is Lipblush?
Lipblushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances natural lip colour and shape, camouflages scars, paleness, and hyperpigmentation; corrects asymmetry; adds definition and creates the illusion of having fuller lips without getting lip fillers.
Lipblush is a semi-permanent makeup technique that enhances the natural shape and color of the lips. It involves depositing pigment into the lips to create a soft, natural-looking tint. Lipblush can add definition, fullness, and symmetry to the lips, giving them a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Numbing is applied. It is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. If you are nervous about pain, you may take 1-2 Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment. DO NOT take Advil or drink a coffee before your appointment. Coffee and Advil will cause you to bleed and make you more sensitive during the procedure.
Depending on your skin and health and if you come for touchup refreshers, your lip blush tattoo will last from 2-5 years.
Here are some factors that can cause your lip blush tattoo to fade faster:
Retinol or Vitamin C
Iron deficiency
Sun exposure
Exfoliants
Exposure to salt water

On the appointment date, we will consult about shape and colour before we begin the tattoo. Tattooing will not start until the final design is drawn for you and agreed upon.
1. Refrain from soaking your lips in water for a week and from applying makeup to them. Make sure to brush your teeth with your mouth wide-open trying to avoid touching the paste and water. Eat carefully also trying to not touch or smudge your lips, it might affect healed results. Alcohol, hot and colourful drinks are only allowed to consume through the straw.
2. Refrain from using saunas and swimming pools, sweating excessively and sunbathing as your lips may loose the colour or get hyperpigmented from sun exposure, especially if you naturally have more melanin in your skin.
3. Do not peel any dry skin/ scabs.
4. Keep the lips moisturized all the time with A&D ointment provided only (no vaseline, antibiotic creams, neosporene, etc.)
WHAT TO EXPECT
Day 1: Your skin will start releasing lymph fluid right after your procedure. This is a common healing process for our bodies! 30 minutes after your appointment and throughout the first day from the procedure, keep wiping your lips with antiseptic wipes and/or lukewarm water to minimize scabbing. Keep applying the ointment.
The color will look the most vibrant today.
Day 2: The lips may still be a little swollen today. Make sure you keep them moisturized.
Day 3-7: Keep moisturizing with A&D as needed! Some light flaking or peeling may occur- this is normal. Do not pick on any dry skin. After a few weeks: you will notice the actual healed results from your session.
Bookings can be made HERE.
Please note: Raquel has limited time slots available. Please be sure you can make the time slot you select as there is a $100 non-refundable deposit required to secure your booking. Bookings are between2-4 hours long so please keep this in mind prior to reserving your spot.
Yes, however, on the first session we will have to color correct your lips to cancel out the cool tones. This means the initial colour we tattoo will be a warm tone! When healed at 6 weeks, most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have an even tone. Note that results cannot be guaranteed and lightening or evening out dark lips may take a few sessions. If you are unsure whether you have dark or cool toned lips you can send a picture of your lips in natural light to confirm. Lips too dark or thick will be rejected so please be sure to email pictures if your lips are extremely dark, grey or black in colour.
Please send Raquel pictures of your previous tattoo to confirm whether she is able to do a coverup at: browsbyraquel@gmail.com
This procedure can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus. To prevent cold sores from flaring up it is recommended to go to your family doctor and get Zovirax or another antiviral medication prescribed to take 5 days prior procedure, the day of, and 5 days after. Note that a cold sore outbreak can alter the healed results of the tattoo.
You might not need a touchup if your lips heal well and you are satisfied with the colour. On touchup sessions, we can alter the shape and colour, go bolder or fill in spots that didn't retain pigment well during healing. Touchups will also add longevity to the life of your tattoo. A Touchup can be booked no sooner than 6 weeks of your last appointment. Please read the FAQ page to ensure you have waited long enough from laser treatments, filler or botox to have a touchup done.
Tips are very much appreciated! As in any service-based industry, it is customary to tip 10-20%.
